93 BERRY GORDY
Born 28th November 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Berry Gordy will also be remembered for the visionary who created Motown Records in Detroit in the late fifties, such was his success with this venture that is easy to forget that before and during he was a very talented songwriter. Although much of Motown's music in it's heyday was written by others, such as Holland/Dozier/Holland and Whitfield/Strong, he still had success writing with a group of writers known as The Corporation, mainly for the Jackson 5. He sold his stake in Motown in 1988 for $61 million.
