Born Farrokh Bulsara 5th September 1946 in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Died 24th November 1991 in London, England of AIDS. Freddie Mercury was one of the world's most flamboyant stars, a brilliant showman and vocalist his song writing is sometimes overlooked, but during his career he was responsible for some of rocks finest moments, most notably 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Along with fellow members of Queen he delighted audiences worldwide with their electrifying live performances most notably stealing the show at Live Aid in 1985. Upon his death in 1991 a massive void was left in British music, never to be filled.
